In Max Payne, Mona is thought to have been killed by mobsters while she was trying to kill Angelo, who she calls a “sadistic wife beater”, but she apparently survived as she reappears as a main character and love interest in Max Payne 2. Lisa is married to Angelo, Punchinello head of the Punchinello crime family.
On occasion Max runs across a trail of dead bodies attributed to Mona, who is described as Lisa Punchinello’s “evil” twin sister. Mona is said to be a contract killer before and during the events of both Max Payne games. Mona Sax is introduced in the game Max Payne.
Mona is a non playable character in Max Payne but is playable in some scenes in Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.
